Russians have started to search for apartments in Armenia more frequently. Rental prices in Yerevan have increased, according to local real estate agents.

Specialists claim that they have noticed a “huge demand” for apartments from Russians, who are largely moving to Yerevan, reports Meduza. They compare the situation to the year 2022 and affirm that prices in the capital have increased by approximately 30% in the last three months.

The journalists of the publication Verstka note that dozens of new announcements appear daily on a popular Telegram channel in Russia, from those who have already arrived in Armenia or intend to emigrate in the fall.

According to Yandex Wordstat, the number of searches for “apartments in Yerevan” reached 5200 in the week of July 13-19. In the period from February 28 – March 6, 2022, there were 5000 such requests, with an increase during the mobilization in September 2022 to nearly 10,000.

Recently, there has been talk in the public space of Russia about a possible mobilization in the fall. According to an ISW analysis, the introduction of martial law is not excluded, and the Kremlin may be preparing for mass unrest.
