The agreed ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova, Oleg Ozerov, was summoned on the morning of May 18 to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). The Russian diplomat refused to make statements to the press.

According to the MAE, the unmanned aircraft flew over the territory of the Republic of Moldova on May 13, after crossing the state border from the direction of Moghiliov-Podolsk, Vinitsa region, towards the village of Sauca, Ocnița district, reports jurnal.md. Chișinău has characterized the incident as a serious and unacceptable violation of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has requested official explanations from Russia and reiterated the need for strict observance of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova, in accordance with international law norms. Upon leaving the Ministry’s headquarters, Oleg Ozerov declined to comment on the summons.

Why should I give you comments? I have nothing to say,” the Russian diplomat told reporters, suggesting they listen to Maria Zakharova’s statements on the subject.

The Civil Aviation Authority previously specified that the drone crossed the airspace of the Republic of Moldova from north to south for approximately 50 minutes, being observed even above the city of Bălți, in Hîncești and Călărași, and subsequently disappearing from radars in the Cahul district area.
