The strategy of the Ukrainian army to specifically target the supply routes and weapon depots of the Russian Federation is beginning to produce visible effects on the southern front. Faced with major equipment losses, the Russian military command was forced to introduce strict limits regarding the use of artillery ammunition for certain elite units.

The information was officially confirmed by the spokesperson of the Southern Defense Forces, Vladislav Voloshin, during a televised intervention. According to him, the constant pressure exerted by Kiev on the logistic nodes has severely disrupted the supply flow of the occupation troops.

From massive bombings to crawling use

According to the data provided by the Ukrainian intelligence services, the ammunition crisis has particularly hit the 36th Russian Army, where commanders have been forced to ration artillery shells.

This shortage has led to a noticeable change in the tactical behavior of Russian troops on the battlefield by reducing fire barrages. If in the past Moscow’s standard tactic involved continuous and massive bombardment until the complete destruction of Ukrainian positions, the frequency of such actions has significantly decreased at present.

This is further compounded by the withdrawal of technology from the front line. Due to the shortage of projectiles, the Russian army has begun to reduce the use of heavy weapon systems located in the immediate vicinity of the contact line, trying to protect the remaining artillery pieces.

However, Kiev warns that Moscow is trying to compensate for this terrestrial vulnerability by intensifying aerial attacks. In the absence of shells, Russian aviation increasingly resorts to guided bombs (KAB) and remotely launched missiles, targeting both military fortifications and localities behind the front line.
