The head of the Ukrainian army has dismissed speculation about a personal dispute with the former defense minister, Mihailo Fedorov, stating that disagreements over military policy should not distract attention from Ukraine’s war with Russia.
“I am not at war with the ministry. I am at war with Russia,” Sîrski wrote in an opinion article. Chief Commander Oleksandr Sîrski made these statements after Fedorov was dismissed and publicly accused him of opposing reforms within the Ministry of Defense and fueling divisions within the army.
“Ukraine is larger than Fedorov, Sîrski and any of us,” wrote the four-star general in an article published by the military publication “Militarnyi”, warning that dividing people into rival camps would distract attention from the war against Russia.
