Ukraine has attacked the Omsk refinery, one of the largest in Russia, for the first time. Several drones were launched at the target.

The governor of the Omsk region, Vitali Hotsenko, reported a threat on the afternoon of July 6. Subsequently, he wrote on Telegram that the aircraft would have been shot down.

Subsequently, the official reported that several drones “managed to reach the northern industrial center of the city of Omsk”, writes Meduza.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed the strike. According to several publications, the attack damaged a main unit of the factory.

The Omsk oil refinery is one of the largest in Russia and is located approximately 2500 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
