The gasoline imported from Belarus has almost doubled in price in Russia. The price increase began in May, against the backdrop of Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil infrastructure.
From June 1 to June 26, over 79 thousand tons of gasoline from Belarus were sold on the exchange. In previous years, transactions of this kind had minimal values.
Specialists estimate that two factories in Belarus can supply the Moscow region, but their capacity is limited if deliveries for all of Russia are desired, writes Meduza.
Against the backdrop of this situation, Russia has reportedly begun to buy gasoline from India, according to Reuters. At least 60,000 tons have already been shipped, and the Kremlin is planning to import 400,000 tons of fuel monthly, from various countries.
Gasoline consumption in Russia during the summer is at least 110,000 tons per day.
