In the Tula region of Russia, the administration of the city of Bolohovo has asked the Police to investigate how a drawing of characters from the cartoon “Smeshariki” appeared on the surface of a playground, covered with rubber material.
Local authorities have stated that painting that space causes damage to municipal property, regardless of artistic value, reports Meduza. The author of the drawing is a child, and his family has been threatened with legal action for damaging public property and vandalism.
The city administration has published images from surveillance cameras, reporting that the “offender” has been identified. The drawing was probably made by a child, as the authorities are addressing the “author and his parents.” The family is warned that they can rectify the consequences if they restore the playground to its original state, this fact being qualified as mitigating.
The mayor of the town declared that the park in Bolohovo has been renovated as part of a state program, whose implementation is strictly monitored. According to the official, the characters “Smeshariki” were painted with resistant paint, and the municipal services could not remove the drawings.
