Russia awaits the arrival in Moscow of American envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner following the scheduled signing on June 19 of the agreement between the United States and Iran to end the war that began at the end of February, reports EFE, as relayed by Agerpres.

“We expect that, following the signing of the agreement with Iran on Friday, the opportunity will arise for two representatives (of the White House) well known to us – Witkoff and Kushner – to come to Moscow,” stated the Russian presidential advisor Yuri Ushakov to the press.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced on Monday that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump had discussed, during their phone call on Sunday, the swift arrival in Moscow of special envoys from the White House.

Sergei Lavrov also insisted that Moscow is “committed to the agreements made on August 15 last year in Alaska,” referring to the meeting between Putin and Trump.

Putin has often said that he accepted Trump’s proposal. We, of course, expect this position, which was established based on the American proposal, to become reality,” he said.
