Russia has begun to use North Korean technology to modernize its own weapons. The statement was made by Alexandr Zaruba, the chief researcher at the State Institute for Testing and Certification of Weapons and Military Equipment in Ukraine.

“Russia has not managed to establish its own mass production of complex electronic components and is obliged to use electronics of North Korean and Western origin”, the official said.

According to him, Russian military would use some systems of the North Korean ballistic missiles KN-23, to improve the efficiency of their own equipment, writes The Moscow Times. So far, this type of ammunition has not been used in offensives against Ukraine.

According to Ukrainian military researchers, the upgraded Iskander-M missiles, produced after 2023-2024, have received fast processors for target recognition, improved optical correction systems, and new engines.

According to Zaruba, Moscow has begun to increase its production of weapons, Kh-101 cruise missiles and Iskander-M. Their manufacture would be carried out non-stop.

Military cooperation with Moscow brings significant economic benefits to Pyongyang. As a result of these collaborations, Kim’s administration would receive up to 14 billion dollars in cash, energy resources, raw materials, and military technology over the course of three years.
