The largest refinery in Russia, located in Omsk and owned by Gazprom Neft, has stopped processing oil following the drone attack on July 6th, reports Reuters, citing two industry sources.

Following the attack, one of the main oil processing facilities was damaged and caught fire. This accounted for 38% of the refinery’s capacity, equivalent to about 24,500 tons of oil per day.

Another installation, which provides another 37% of the oil processing capacity, was urgently shut down. According to Reuters sources, it was not directly hit, but the communications between the sections ensuring its operation were damaged.

The Omsk refinery has an annual processing capacity of 22 million tons of oil. Agency sources estimate that the second facility could be restarted soon.
