The Ministry of Internal Affairs in Russia has advised citizens not to share their opinions on social networks. The authority referred to chats, groups, or forums.

Furthermore, Russians have been advised to avoid debates on “provocative” topics. The Moscow authorities justify this measure by the fact that the information could be used by recruiters of foreign special services.

Furthermore, citizens from Russia are urged not to respond to suspicious messages from unknown accounts and numbers, not to add strangers to their friends list, and not to post “excessive” information about themselves on social media, not to indicate their place of study, work, residence, or details about family and friends.

This is the second time since the beginning of the year that the Russian Interior Ministry has issued such recommendations since the beginning of the year, reports The Moscow Times.

Concurrently, the authorities are punishing the Russians with fines and imprisonment for their online statements criticizing the military, labeling them as promoting falsehoods.
