The President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, believes that the time has come for European governments to make direct contact with Moscow, reports dpa as quoted by Agerpres.

\”It’s time we start discussing with Russia. When that will happen, I don’t know,\” Stubb declared in an interview given to the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, published on Monday.

Stubb stated that, in his opinion, the US policy towards Russia and Ukraine is no longer in line with Europe’s interests, which means that Europe needs to get directly involved.

\”I have discussed with European leaders about who should establish contact,\” he emphasized, adding that no decision has been made in this regard.

The most important aspect is the coordination between European countries, especially between France, Germany, Italy, Poland, and the United Kingdom, along with the Nordic and Baltic countries that border Russia.
