The war in Iran increases the price of long-distance flights from Europe by over 100 dollars. Most likely, this increase will lead to a rise in ticket prices.
The estimates were made by the organization Transport & Environment (T&E), cited by Reuters. Analysts compared prices from April 16 with those before the start of the war between the United States and Israel with Iran, on February 28.
According to experts, flights within Europe could increase by approximately 29 euros per passenger.
For instance, calculations show that the fuel price for a flight from Barcelona to Berlin would be 26 euros more expensive per passenger, according to hotnews.ro. A long-distance journey from Paris to New York would cost 129 euros more, solely due to the increase in fuel prices.
The European Union is set to respond on Wednesday by issuing guidelines on managing the limited resources of aircraft fuel.
Concurrently, directors of major airlines, including Lufthansa, Ryanair, and Air France-KLM, stated in March that they might pass on the higher fuel costs to consumers if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed for a longer period.
