The propaganda program “Discussions about important things”, introduced at the initiative of President Vladimir Putin, has been renamed for kindergartens to “Good Games”. The announcement was made by Alexandr Tsvetkov, director of the Institute for the Study of Childhood, Family, and Education, an institution under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education of Russia, according to RBK.

The new format includes games, conversations, creative tasks, and readings to discuss “in a simple and interesting way” topics considered important. Among the included subjects are “Peoples of Russia”, “My favorite kindergarten”, “Seasonal safety: autumn”, “Agriculture”, “Grandparents” or “Corner of Russia — my homeland”.

    Recommendations for educators and parents

The Ministry of Education has developed guides for educators. For example, in discussions with children aged 3-5 about “Peoples of Russia”, they should hear the message: “To defend our homeland, we are ready to unite”.

For children aged 5-7, the recommendation is supplemented with historical references, such as the example of Minin and Pozharsky, who “gathered the people and liberated Moscow from enemies”.

Within the theme “Corner of Russia — my homeland”, children are encouraged to guess a riddle: “I will not go anywhere, I will live and work here”, the answer being “homeland”.

The program also includes recommendations for parents regarding home games, discussion topics, cartoons, and suitable books for children.
