At the request of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia, the sale of fuels has been banned on the Avito, Ozon, and Wildberries market platforms. Some platforms have hidden advertisements and promotions of this kind, while others block their creation during moderation.

FAS explained that these actions are necessary for “preventing the speculative resale of fuel”.

According to The Bell’s calculations, until June 16, restrictions on fuel sales for private vehicles were imposed in 53 regions of Russia, as well as in the annexed territories of Ukraine. In 18 areas, a maximum of 50 liters of gasoline is sold, which is a full tank. Another 11 regions reported a lack of fuel at a significant number of gas stations.

According to Meduza, authorities in the Vladimir region of Russia have urged citizens to use their cars less, due to a “temporary shortage of stocks”.

The fuel crisis in Russia began at the end of May, after Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian refineries and oil depots intensified.
