Before an FPV (First Person View) drone begins its surveillance or attack mission on the eastern Ukrainian front, a battle just as important takes place in clandestine workshops near the contact line. Here, the engineers of the unmanned systems battalion of the 36th Marine Infantry Brigade prepare and assemble the warheads intended for kamikaze drones, used to halt the advance of Russian troops.
These specialists are responsible for configuring the explosive elements used by both rapid attack drones and those intended for bombing, ensuring that each flying device can be safely armed before the mission.

Images obtained by The Sun publication illustrate the meticulous work of Ukrainian engineers, whose activity behind the front lines makes large-scale aerial operations possible. The battalion operates in the hot zones of the eastern part of the country, where FPV drones have become one of Kiev’s most effective weapons against the invasion forces.
The procedure requires extreme concentration: a large-caliber artillery projectile is fixed in a sturdy vise, while a sapper carefully unscrews the front fuse with the help of a special key, assisted by a colleague who stabilizes the ammunition. Each movement is calculated and controlled, reflecting the inherent danger of this activity.
