The Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, announced on Tuesday the summoning of the Russian ambassador to Rome to protest the “extremely serious and offensive” statements made by presenter Vladimir Soloviov on Russian television against Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
According to the Italian press, Vladimir Soloviov called Meloni, in Italian, “the disgrace of the human race,” “wild beast,” “certified idiot,” “Giorgia the whore,” directly addressing the prime minister: “what a small, ugly, and mean woman.”
“This Meloni is a fascist creature who betrayed her voters, as she presented herself with completely different slogans,” the Russian-speaking presenter continued, writes News.
“Betrayal is her second name, she even betrayed Trump, to whom she had previously sworn loyalty,” he added.
The entire Italian political class, both the majority and the opposition, has strongly condemned these statements.
