Ukraine is conducting one of the most extensive drone campaigns since the beginning of the Russian invasion, targeting military and logistical infrastructure in occupied Crimea. According to military analysts, the repeated attacks on the peninsula reduce Russia’s ability to supply its troops and mark a new stage in the conflict.
In recent weeks, Crimea has been the target of an almost continuous wave of Ukrainian attacks on fuel depots, railway infrastructure, bridges, and anti-aircraft defense systems.
According to former British intelligence officer Philip Ingram, quoted by The Sun, Kiev’s strategy aims to isolate the peninsula and gradually reduce Russia’s ability to use it as a military base.
“Ukraine is essentially depriving Crimea of the resources necessary for sustaining military operations”, the expert declared.
The “Sparta” Brigade, on the front line of the attacks
An important role in this campaign is played by the elite company “Sparta”, part of the 422nd Regiment of the Ukrainian army.
The unit, led by a commander known by the codename “Beast”, operates heavy “Zozulia” type drones, capable of carrying explosive warheads of approximately 50 kilograms.
According to the commander, quoted by the British press, the unit has so far destroyed 94 military targets using 103 drones.
Among the targets hit are electronic warfare systems, logistics warehouses, and infrastructure used by the Russian army to supply troops in Crimea.
