The Russian Ministry of Energy proposed a series of measures on Monday, January 29, after multiple attacks that took place this month on Russian oil infrastructure, strikes that were blamed on Ukraine, reports the daily newspaper Vedomosti. Including on Monday, such an attack occurred, reports Reuters.

The Russian air defense announced that they have countered a drone attack on the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery in the city of Yaroslavl, northeast of Moscow, said regional governor Mikhail Evraev.

The Novo-Yaroslavsk oil refinery (Slavneft-YANOS) was opened in 1961. Currently, it is one of the largest refineries in Russia that produces refined products.

This was the latest in a series of similar drone raids on Russian energy infrastructure in recent weeks, some of which disrupted fuel production.

According to Vedomosti newspaper, following the attacks, the Russian Ministry of Energy requested restricted flights above Russian energy installations. According to the plan, only airplanes deployed to protect energy installations and airplanes of high-ranking Russian officials or visiting foreign officials will be allowed to fly with special permission in designated areas.

The Russian Ministry of Energy has not yet commented on this information from the Russian daily.

Ukrainian officials have stated that Kiev is behind some of these attacks.
