Images captured at the American base RAF Fairford in southeast England indicate that Washington is preparing to introduce into the conflict some of its most powerful conventional weapons, equipping the B-1B Lancer bombers with “bunker-buster” munitions.

The United States seems to be preparing for possible strikes on Iranian targets deep underground, in the context of the expanding conflict already affecting oil routes and energy infrastructure in the Gulf, according to Gulf News.

Footage taken on Wednesday at the RAF Fairford base in the UK shows how American B-1B Lancer bombers are loaded with heavy “bunker-buster” type munitions. Analysts consider the images a clear signal that Washington is considering attacking underground facilities where Iran could be hiding ballistic missiles, drones, and strategic equipment.

In the video images, the dismantling of a missile launcher from the weapons compartment of a B-1 is also observed, indicating that the aircraft is being reconfigured for the transport of large tonnage penetrating bombs, capable of destroying reinforced bunkers.
