The United States has urged Russia to accept an agreement as soon as possible to end the war in Ukraine, warning that the prolongation of the conflict only exacerbates Moscow’s losses. The message was conveyed during a meeting of the UN Security Council by the Deputy Permanent Representative of the USA to the United Nations, Dan Negrea.
The American official emphasized that Washington continues to support Ukraine in defending its sovereignty and independence and stated that “time is not on Russia’s side”.
“The United States supports Ukraine in defending its freedom and sovereignty. We also stand with the Ukrainian citizens who are suffering from attacks on critical infrastructure and cultural heritage, including Russian strikes that have affected the Pechersk Lavra in Kiev,” the American diplomat stated.
He also mentioned the position recently expressed by American President Donald Trump at the G7 summit, according to which Moscow must reach an agreement to end the conflict.
