The Slovak police announced on Tuesday that they had thwarted a plan to set fire to a drone factory in the eastern part of the country, reports AFP, according to Agerpres.

Three foreign citizens were arrested in connection with this case, two in Slovakia and one in Germany. They are suspected of having “acted on orders” to prepare the attack, the police indicated on Facebook, specifying that they acted based on information provided by the Slovak secret services.

The police also reported that a large quantity of incendiary mix, tools, and mobile phones were confiscated. “If the attack had taken place, it could have caused a large-scale fire,” the police stated, according to whom about 70 employees could have been in danger, and the damages could have amounted to several million euros.

Contacted by AFP, the Slovak police have so far refused to provide further details. “The investigation continues and a change in legal classification cannot be ruled out,” said the police spokesperson, Roman Hajek, for the Slovak agency TASR, adding that additional information will be provided as soon as the procedural situation allows it.
