Revista americană Forbes he corrected the annual ranking of the world’s wealthiest people, indicating a different country of origin for three businesspeople who were previously included in the category of Russia. This change was brought to attention by the publication “Agenția”.Such changes usually take place at the direct request of entrepreneurs or their representatives, notes the source.

According to the updated ranking, the founder of EuroChem and SUEK companies, Andrei Melnichenko (with a fortune of 17.4 billion dollars), is now listed as a billionaire from the United Arab Emirates. In the Forbes ranking in Russia, he held the seventh position last year, and in the global list of the 200 wealthiest people on the planet – the 91st place. The founder of the USM holding, Alisher Usmanov (16.7 billion dollars), is now listed as a businessman from Uzbekistan. Last year, he ranked ninth in the Russian rankings and 144th worldwide. Another entrepreneur whose country of origin has been changed is Mikhail Prokhorov (10.7 billion dollars), who now appears as a billionaire from Switzerland. In the Forbes Russia ranking, he previously held the 11th place, while globally he is currently ranked at 190.

Cu toate acestea, ediția rusească a Forbesthey continue to consider these entrepreneurs as Russian billionaires. In the latest ranking of the top 20 wealthiest businessmen in Russia, their names are still present, as well as that of Pavel Durov, whom the American edition stopped including among Russian billionaires since 2024.

Ediția americană a Forbes it published the updated list of the world’s richest people on April 1st.
This year, the ranking includes 114 entrepreneurs that the magazine considers affiliated with Russia. The list of Russian billionaires is led by the president of Lukoil company, Vagit Alekperov, with a fortune of 28.7 billion dollars (0.1 billion more than last year), ranking 62nd globally. He is followed by Aleksei Mordashov (28.6 billion dollars) and Leonid Mikhelson (28.4 billion dollars). Eight Russian entrepreneurs are present in the top 200 worldwide, compared to 11 last year. This decrease can be explained by the fact that the three – Melnichenko, Usmanov, and Prokhorov – have been relocated to rankings of other countries.
