The war in the Middle East risks consuming American military resources, including anti-aircraft defense missiles, which could affect weapon deliveries to Ukraine.

“Our missile reserves are running out. We need more PAC-3 missiles to be able to repel future attacks from the Russian aggressor,” emphasizes Dmitro, the chief engineer of a Patriot air defense system, in a video released by the Ukrainian Air Forces, according to Agerpres.

According to the soldiers, the American manufacturing system allowed the interception of over 40 ballistic missiles during Russia’s recent winter campaign against Ukraine’s energy system, but there could have been more “if we had enough ammunition,” says Pavlo, the deputy commander of the unit.

Meanwhile, according to Bloomberg, the United States is gradually losing some of its influence over Ukraine, against the backdrop of reduced financial aid and a focus on the conflict in the Middle East.

In this context, Kiev would have more freedom in decision-making and would become less dependent on the political pressure from Washington.

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski, however, rejected the possibility of territorial concessions and stressed that any discussion on security guarantees cannot be conditioned by such demands.

Since Trump took office, Congress has not allocated new funds for Ukraine. Funding from the previous administration has decreased over time.
