The Ukrainian Naval Forces have confirmed a high-tech anti-ship missile attack, made in Sweden, that targeted an oil platform occupied by Russian forces in the Black Sea, according to an official statement published on Monday, reports Kyiv Post.

A video clip released by the Ukrainian navy showed at least two missiles hitting the Sivaș platform, a platform located about 60-80 kilometers northwest of Crimea. The footage shows powerful explosions on the main deck of the platform at night, while other images capture drone attacks and kamikaze boats. Russian forces were using the abandoned platform for airspace surveillance, electronic warfare, and anti-aircraft defense.

Ukrainian forces have launched a series of long-range drone attacks on Russian oil infrastructure in the port of Novorossisk.

Novorossisk, located in the northeast of the Russian coast of the Black Sea, hosts the Russian Black Sea Fleet after losing its previous headquarters in Sevastopol, Crimea. During these attacks, the frigate Admiral Grigorovich was hit while trying to defend the port, according to Ukrainian military sources.

The rocket used in the attack on the oil platform is a Saab-Bofors RBS-15, officially named “Gungir”, after the mythological spear of the Nordic god Odin. Both Ukrainian and Russian military sources confirmed the use of this weapon on Tuesday.
