The SBS Commander added that the Russian Federation’s defense industry and refining sector are already fully feeling the effects of the Ukrainian long-range strikes. According to operational data, the ninth refinery out of a total of 13 Russian energy targets attacked by SBS drones during the month of May has suspended its activity.

Strategy of preventive steps at the border with Belarus and Transnistria

Although the spokesperson for the State Border Service of Ukraine, Andrii Demcenko, clarified that there are currently no Russian infantry units massed on Belarusian territory capable of launching an imminent invasion, the risk remains high. Minsk continues to develop its logistical and military infrastructure, offering Moscow the opportunity to rapidly deploy additional forces.

In this context, five key regions of Ukraine have moved to the implementation of a massive fortification plan and preparation for an “all-around defense”:

Kiev Region: The military authorities have ordered the preparation of 32 localities in the region, including the capital, for a long-term resistance in tactical isolation, in the event of a new siege from the north.

Volîni Region: Intense work is underway at the direct border with Belarus to fortify the adjacent localities. Emergency plans provide for the complete evacuation of the civilian population from border towns to safe areas, already established by local administrations, in the event of a threat from the north being activated.

Odesa Region: Genius works have intensified on the border segment with the separatist Transnistria region. Around Odessa, complex defensive lines are installed, which include anti-tank trenches for tens of kilometers, bunkers, barbed wire networks, and “dragon’s teeth” type structures. The “South” territorial command emphasized that these measures are meant to discourage any enemy landing attempt.
