Drones have struck key vessels used for securing passage and combating sabotage in the Black Sea.
The Ukrainian navy attacked Russian vessels guarding the Kerch Bridge in occupied Crimea, on Thursday morning, April 30.
“The forces and resources of the Ukrainian Navy have caused damage to the Russian naval fleet in the Kerch Strait area”, the Navy stated in a Telegram announcement.
According to the report, the attack hit the Sobol patrol boat of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) and the Grachonok anti-sabotage boat, writes Kyiv Post.
“As a result of the attack, the enemy suffered irreparable and sanitary losses,” the statement said.
Marina stated that the ships are key units of the FSB Border Service’s Coast Guard and the Russian Navy, used to guard the Kerch Bridge and counteract sabotage operations.
“This is another example of the efficient work of the Ukrainian Navy and the constant reduction of the enemy’s capabilities in the Black Sea”, the statement said.
A brief video recording published by the Navy seems to show the moment of the drone attack, but Kyiv Post could not independently verify the time or location of the recording.
