Poland will equip over 100 kilometers of its border with Ukraine with an electronic security system, announced the head of the Polish Border Guard, as quoted by TVPWorld.
The equipment, which will be financed by the European Union, will include surveillance and motion detection technology and will complement the existing physical barriers, declared on Wednesday in front of a parliamentary committee the deputy commander of the Polish Border Guard, Brigadier General Violeta Gorzkowska.
The measure comes against the backdrop of Warsaw’s growing concern about the escalation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and follows an increase in security incidents in border areas.
