A Ukrainian naval drone destroyed another unmanned Russian drone in a confrontation on the Black Sea waters, according to the Ukrainian navy.
“This is the first naval battle in history between unmanned ships,” said the Ukrainian navy in a message on Telegram.
The Naval Forces, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Information, carried out a successful operation in the Black Sea and destroyed a Russian unmanned maritime vessel, according to the message.
This confrontation comes in a context where both warring countries are increasingly using aerial, ground, and naval drones.
“The target was detected by the subdivisions of the General Directorate of Information. The unmanned maritime vessel of the Naval Forces “Sargan 3000”, equipped with an automatic RWS “Protector” turret of 12.7 mm, successfully destroyed it“, the Ukrainian navy further stated.
