Two Russian soldiers were captured by Ukrainian forces in the Zaporizhia region, following an operation carried out by the Stugna unit, part of the special forces of the Main Directorate of Information of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The action was filmed, and the images were made public by the authorities in Kiev.

According to the press department of the Ukrainian Military Intelligence Services, the operation took place in the Zaporizhia direction, within the stabilization missions carried out by the unit. Ukrainian soldiers managed to capture two soldiers of the Russian army without incidents.

The two Russian soldiers were safely evacuated from the front line, respecting international rules regarding the treatment of prisoners of war. Once they arrived in the areas controlled by Ukraine, they received food and medical care, reports Dialog

Ukrainian authorities have specified that the prisoners are to be included in a future exchange of prisoners with the Russian side.

The Zaporizhia region remains one of the active areas of the conflict, where fighting between Ukrainian and Russian forces continues.
