Hungary’s Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, attacks the Western strategy towards the war in Ukraine, comparing the EU’s policy on the conflict to the failures of Napoleon and Hitler.
“Today the war continues because European leaders want it to continue”, Orbán stated at an election rally in Békéscsaba, without mentioning the responsibility of the Russians who started the war, reports Index.hr.
In his speech, he explained that “Putinization” is primitive and frivolous, and that the real threat to the freedom of Hungarians is Brussels, not Moscow.
According to him, European leaders want to continue the war because they have only one hope left: if they defeat Russia on Ukrainian territory, they will be able to force the Russians to pay reparations and thus recover the money lent to Ukraine.
“Both Napoleon and Hitler tried this. They did not succeed, but will Kaja Kallas succeed?” he said.
Orbán believes that the strategy of waiting for Russia to be economically exhausted by EU sanctions is wrong, because “in the end, the red flag usually flies over the towers of Berlin”.
