Vladimir Zelensky wants to launch the “Carpathian Initiative”. The Ukrainian leader intends to create a community that will include eight states – Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Ukraine.
The countries in the Initiative will share common economic and security interests, writes radiochisinau.md. According to the President of Ukraine, this is particularly about logistics, necessary for the reconstruction of his country after the war. Culture and tourism could be included later in the platform’s priorities.
“Why did this idea come about? Because not all countries are prepared to support us with weapons, but they wish to cooperate in the fields of humanitarian aid, security, and economy. They also consider the reconstruction of Ukraine. This initiative is something that can unite us all. We need it,” declared Vladimir Zelenski.
The Ukrainian president appreciates as a good sign for the peaceful future the fact that several states are considering the reconstruction of Ukraine after the war.
