The United States has reportedly warned the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf through diplomatic and military channels to prepare for a “short but intense military campaign.” The offensive could take place after the US elections on November 3.
According to sources cited by The Wall Street Journal, the U.S. military is reportedly moving Patriot air defense missile systems from Texas and replenishing ammunition stockpiles in the region. Bombers and fighter jets are also reportedly preparing for strikes.
Sources close to Trump say the US president has yet to make a final decision but is determined to order a large-scale attack on Iran that could target infrastructure and nuclear facilities, Meduza reports.
Trump said in early October that the U.S. would not attack Iran before the elections because the two sides were engaged in “productive negotiations.” A few days later, however, he said he had no one to negotiate with in Iran, as he did not know who was at the country’s helm following the removal of its previous leadership.
