Chinese leader Xi Jinping told American President Donald Trump that Vladimir Putin will regret invading Ukraine. The message was conveyed during the meeting the officials had in Beijing.
According to multiple sources familiar with the US assessment of last week’s summit in Beijing, reports news.ro. Those in the know have also said that similar discussions did not take place between Xi and Biden.
The disclosure is made in the context where Putin is preparing to arrive in China on Tuesday and to have meetings with Xi, shortly after the American leader’s visit to Beijing.
Previously, the Biden administration frequently accused China of supplying Russia with dual-use products, which have helped it sustain its campaign against Ukraine. Under Trump’s leadership, the White House was more cautious in making such statements.
