The President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelenski, reported an assassination attempt on the commander of the Khartiia Brigade, Ihor Obolenskyi. The leader from Kiev asserts that the attacker and his accomplice have been apprehended.
The authorities are carrying out legal procedures. The head of state has already discussed with Obolenskyi and has been informed about the progress of the investigation, writes Mediafax.
“Today, an assassination attempt was made on Ihor. The attacker and his accomplice have been detained. The necessary procedural measures are underway. We will definitely respond to this attack attempt against Ukraine and the Ukrainian commander,” Zelenski conveyed.
The Ukrainian president thanked Ihor Obolenskyi for his military service and conveyed to him “to strike the occupiers even harder”.
The Ukrainian authorities have not yet made public details about the circumstances of the assassination attempt or the identity of the detained individuals.
