Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski stated that potential funding for the provision of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine could come from three sources: NATO’s PURL program, a “mega deal” negotiated with the United States, and frozen Russian assets, reports Ukrinform.

He made these statements during a joint press conference with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, according to a Ukrinform correspondent, writes News.

Asked about possible funding options for the Tomahawk missiles, Zelenski suggested three options. “One option is the PURL (Ukraine’s Priority List) program of NATO. Through this mechanism, NATO acquires various types of weapons from the US with its own funds and then transfers to us what we need,” Zelenski said.

The second potential source, he added, is a significant bilateral agreement with the United States – “Mega Deal” – negotiations for which are still ongoing. “The second option is a direct acquisition through Mega Deal. It is a large-scale enterprise and there is still a long way to go”, he said.

Zelenski added that funds from frozen Russian assets could also be used for the purchase of Tomahawk missiles.

“It is certainly a good option,” he said, adding that it is still too early to discuss the exact quantities or potential delivery conditions.

The US President, Donald Trump stated that Ukraine could receive Tomahawk cruise missiles if Russia refuses to pursue a peaceful resolution.
