Ukraine transforms drone production into an industrial base for war. The country already produces 10 million drones per year and aims to reach 20 million.
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski announced on Wednesday a significant increase in drone production in Ukraine. According to him, the country is already producing about 10 million drones annually, and the goal is to double this capacity, up to 20 million drones per year, reports dialog.ua.
Zelenski made the statement in Kiev, during the events dedicated to Ukraine’s Statehood Day. He recalled that when he first publicly announced the goal of producing a million drones per year, many were skeptical, both in Ukraine and abroad.
The Ukrainian army is already extensively using drones on the frontline, targeting Russian logistics, military equipment, anti-aircraft defense systems, energy infrastructure, and other military objectives. Mass production allows for a quicker response to the needs of combat units and contributes to maintaining constant pressure on Russian forces.
