The former Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Fedorov has warned that British factories producing drones for Ukraine risk becoming the target of “semi-military” or “unknown” forces, in response to the increasingly extensive military support given to Kiev by the United Kingdom, reports Tuesday CBS News.

Fedorov stated on Monday, during the Newsnight program on BBC, that Russian President Vladimir Putin is under pressure from public opinion and Russian mass media to take action against Great Britain.

“Something could happen to the enterprises, to the factories that produce drones for Ukraine,” he told the BBC. “They could be attacked – not by Russia, but by unknown sources.”

He stated that he cannot “exclude 100% the possibility of semi-military actions”, mentioning the possibility of cyber attacks – also from “unknown sources, not at an official level, of course” – or unspecified political measures against Great Britain.

Andrei Fedorov’s statements came after British Prime Minister Andy Burnham announced this week, during a visit to Kiev, an agreement in which the UK will provide Kiev with classified technology for the manufacture in Ukraine of a cruise missile model, designed by the UK and France.

London has been supplying Ukraine with British cruise missiles since 2023, but the new agreement should allow Ukraine to start domestic production of a French SCALP type missile, which contains British components.
