President Maia Sandu will convene the National Security Council on Friday, November 6. Its members will consider the measures needed to strengthen the state’s cybersecurity and enhance the protection of digital government services.
According to the President’s Office, the meeting comes amid a surge in cyberattacks on public institutions and critical infrastructure across several European countries. The latest attacks, recorded this week, targeted more than ten countries.
The Council meeting was announced back in late November, after the personal data of some 750,000 Moldovans was stolen from Moldova’s government systems.
The Council meeting is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Afterwards, Moldova’s president is expected to address the press on the issues discussed.
