Beijing announced on Wednesday that it remains in dialogue with Washington and Moscow about a possible summit between Xi Jinping, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.
“China is in contact with the relevant parties regarding a meeting between the Chinese, Russian and US heads of state,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning announced.
China will host a summit of leaders from the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member economies on November 18 and 19, news.ro reports. All three countries—China, the United States and Russia—are members of the organization.
There has been talk for several weeks of a meeting between the three leaders, as well as a possible Trump–Putin meeting in Florida on the sidelines of the G20 summit.
