The State University “M.V. Lomonosov” in Moscow (MGU) has introduced for its students a course created by the ideologue of the “Russian world” and representative of “neo-Eurasianism”, Aleksandr Dughin, following the example of the Russian State University for the Humanities (RGGU).According to Moscow State University’s Faculty of Political Science’s Telegram channel, the first lecture of the series titled “Introduction to Westernology: The Political Aspect” took place on March 31st. During this lecture, the philosopher – previously banned from the academic environment – will speak to students about the concept of the “satanic West” and how it should be studied.

In his first lecture, Dughin explained that “vesterology” means “placing Western tradition in a historical context alongside other civilizations.”In his opinion, every civilization, including the Western one, considers ‘what is specific to it is universal.’ ‘But only the West has gone so far as to identify itself with all of humanity,’ he emphasized.

The philosopher, who holds the title of professor and diplomas in sociological and political sciences, also stated that Russia and the West have a common civilizational root.
However, according to him, “in the current state there are two different civilizations”, as they have followed distinct paths starting with the Great Schism of 1054. Dugin added that contemporary political scientists must “consider how we can tame this tiger, how to turn poison into medicine”, referring to the “ambiguous” phenomenon of transhumanism.
