China has tightened export restrictions, making it practically impossible for Russia to purchase Chinese machinery with a precision of 3-4 microns.
This was stated by Ildar Nuriev, the owner of the company “Tatpromstan”, at the forum dedicated to metal processing and additive technologies “TEMP”.
“China has limited the delivery of high-tech equipment, although it is not much discussed. If before we could get machine tools with a precision of 3-4 microns, now this is no longer possible. A special export license is required,” Nuriev said (quoted by MașTeh).
He added that even the export of already purchased machinery has begun to be accompanied by “unpleasant incidents”.
Nuriev’s company specializes in localizing machine tool complexes based on Chinese technologies. He sees these restrictions as a clear signal of Beijing’s reluctance to further develop a real technological partnership with Russian firms.
The restrictions on high-precision equipment coincide with a sharp decrease in the volume of trade between the two countries. According to the Chinese customs service, in August 2025, exports of Chinese goods to Russia fell by 16.4% compared to the same period last year – double from July, when the decline was 8.6%.
