General Christopher Donahue, the head of NATO ground forces, stated on Tuesday that the system with which the alliance intends to protect Romania from Russian drones will soon be located in the Danube Delta.
Donahue made a visit to the Mihail Kogălniceanu base during the day, which he interrupted due to an incident in which a Russian drone fell in Vaslui county.
The American general was accompanied to the military base by the Romanian Minister of Defense, Ionuț Moșteanu.

“As the commander of NATO ground forces (…) Romania is extremely important to us for all the reasons that the minister (Romanian Moșteanu, ed.) just highlighted. We have already started developing the ability to do exactly what we know we need to do, as an alliance, with the United States being one of the 32 members: to ensure that these drones do not violate our airspace.
We have tested this capability, which is in the final stages of implementation. Romanian soldiers and other soldiers of the Alliance have been trained on this capability and I believe you will soon see it in the Delta,” said the American general.
