A confidential poll commissioned by the Kremlin shows that the majority of Russians are increasingly tired of the war that continues for the fourth year in Ukraine. Support for the continuation of the “special military operation” has dropped below 20%, and the general perception of the situation in the country is increasingly negative.

According to the independent Russian publication “Vot tak”, the results of an internal survey conducted for the presidential administration in Moscow show that 83% of citizens feel, in one way or another, fatigue from the war in Ukraine.

The data was presented by Alexandr Haricev, head of the presidential department for monitoring and analyzing social processes, in a report intended exclusively for internal use by regional authorities, in view of the 2026 elections, reports the publication Dialog.ua.

According to the survey, in 2025, 56% of Russians stated that they are “very tired” of the war, and 27% said that they “to some extent” feel the same. Compared to the previous year, the number of those who admit deep fatigue has increased by 9 percentage points, and those who partially agree – by 6 points.

    Support for war is declining

The report also shows that support for the continuation of military operations has fallen below the 20% threshold. At the same time, the general mood in Russian society significantly deteriorated towards the end of 2024.

“Russians, in general, evaluate what is happening extremely negatively”, the document states. Among the causes of this state are the lack of military successes, increased inflation, declining population income, and increased taxes.
