The government led by Vasile Tofan received the vote of confidence from the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova on Tuesday, after about 10 hours of debates. The new cabinet of ministers was approved with the support of 53 deputies from the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS).
In the plenary session, the appointed prime minister presented his priorities. Although the program was praised by most deputies, there were also several criticisms from the opposition regarding the autonomy that Tofan will have as prime minister.
After the vote of confidence, the members of the new cabinet are to take the oath in front of the country’s president.
The ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22. The new ministers are expected to participate in the ceremony at the Presidency starting at 8:00.
