Russia could attack NATO by 2030, warned British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Friday. In this context, the official assured of the United Kingdom’s determination to develop its military capabilities, to be prepared for such a potential situation.
“According to the assessment of our intelligence services, as well as other NATO countries, there could be an attack from Russia against NATO by 2030. It is not an exaggeration to say that we are living in the most dangerous and uncertain period of our lives,” the Prime Minister stated, at the headquarters of a defense company in Wiltshire.
The warning is similar to that of NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, who stated in December that Russia might be ready to use military force against NATO within five years, reports Agerpes.
The United Kingdom has committed to increasing its military spending in the coming years. In this regard, Prime Minister Starmer announced that the government will publish its defense investment plan before the NATO summit, scheduled for the beginning of July.
