The NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte, stated that Russia is suffering “huge losses” in the war in Ukraine and “is failing to achieve its objectives.”

Present at the conference of German ambassadors, on Thursday, in Berlin, the NATO chief stated that, every month, in Ukraine over 40,000 Russian soldiers are killed or seriously injured.

“The brutal attacks of Russia against Ukraine do not cease. Russia suffers enormous losses, now estimated at over 40,000 dead or severely wounded each month. Think about that. Over 40,000 each month,” said Mark Rutte, quoted by The Guardian.

On the other hand, he warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin “shows no desire to end the war” launched against Ukraine in February 2022.

“Despite these heavy losses, Putin shows no desire to end the war. Instead, Russia repeatedly attacks Kiev and other parts of Ukraine, often targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure, and, at the same time, the list of Russia’s malign hybrid activities in Europe is growing: cyber attacks, sabotage, arson, airspace violations, drone incidents,” continued Mark Rutte.
