A new call intercepted by Ukrainian intelligence services reveals the extreme hardships Russian soldiers are subjected to on the battlefield, reports Kyiv Post.
“The military intelligence services have received yet another confirmation of the collapse of the Russian army’s logistical system: infantry units have been left without adequate food and supplies for a long period of time,” HUR stated in a release.
The intercepted call was published on Tuesday, February 3, on the YouTube channel of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR).
In the intercepted conversation, a Russian soldier dramatically describes his precarious condition, having lost a lot of weight and seeming rather resigned.
“How are things here? We don’t eat, we don’t drink anything… If I turn to one side, you wouldn’t even notice me. The uniform hangs on me like on a hanger!”, says the soldier.
“Damn, I’m just skin and bone now – and only the beard saves appearances, at least something is visible”, he says.
His interlocutor confirms: he has seen a recent photo of him and has also noticed that he has lost a lot of weight.
Such testimonies are not new.
In March 2025, the spokesperson for the Third Assault Brigade, Oleksandr Borodin, said that Russian forces from the Kharkov direction were facing a severe supply deficit.
