Russia imposes conditions for peace negotiations in Abu Dhabi. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated on Thursday that Moscow wants “quiet confidentiality”.

The head of Russian diplomacy said that Moscow does not know about the US security guarantees for Ukraine, according to TVR, referring to the international press. At the same time, Lavrov continued the manipulative Russian rhetoric about Kiev’s “Russophobic and Nazi political attitude”.

“Unlike Ukrainians and Americans, we do not publicly comment on negotiations, which should take place in quiet confidentiality. We do not know what guarantees Ukraine and the US have agreed upon, but apparently they have agreed on guarantees for the Ukrainian regime that continues a Russophobic and Nazi policy”, Lavrov said.

The statements were made after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that the document with American security guarantees for Ukraine is ready for signing. On the other hand, the American press writes that Trump would have conditioned the agreement with the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Donbas region, thus supporting Putin’s request.

The latest US – Ukraine – Russia discussions took place on January 23 and 24 in Abu Dhabi. New negotiations are expected to take place in early February.
