The Russian Government has decided to suspend, starting from July 1, the movement of people, vehicles, and goods through several railway crossing points at the border with Finland, Estonia, and Latvia.
The decision was published on the official portal of normative acts, however, the authorities did not explain the reasons for the decision, nor did they specify how long the restrictions will remain in effect.
Among the affected crossing points are Vyborg, Svetogorsk and Saint Petersburg-Finland, at the border with Finland, Pechory-Pskovskie, at the border with Estonia, and Pitalovo, at the border with Latvia.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been tasked with officially informing the authorities in Finland, Estonia, and Latvia about the introduction of restrictions.
